Barbara has over 25 years of executive coaching, consulting, business, and management experience. Before founding Leading Impact in the Philadelphia area, she was a Vice President in major New York and Chicago companies where she led strategic planning and change initiatives, managed teams, and served on executive task forces for computer system conversions, product and process innovations, company startups and acquisitions.
Barbara holds an M.A. in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University and a Master in City Planning from Harvard University, has taught Leading Organizational Change in an MBA program, authored articles in national journals, presented workshops nationally, and appeared as a coach on CBS-TV. She has served on Boards of Directors in New York, Chicago and Philadelphia, is in the Forum of Executive Women, Who’s Who in Business and Finance, and Who’s Who in America, and is an Adjunct Executive Coach at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
She is certified as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) by the International Coach Federation, and has served as a Master Coach for coaching skills workshops in national programs. She uses assessments including Center for Creative Leadership’s 360 degree leadership assessments, Myers-Briggs, Conflict Dynamics Profile, DiSC, EQi 2.0 emotional intelligence, and the Hogan personality suite.
Her clients include individual leaders and teams in global Fortune 500 companies and mid-size firms in a broad range of industries, healthcare systems, universities, and professional services firms. She has helped clients at levels from Director to CEO think strategically, navigate change, build effective relationships, resolve conflict, make better decisions, create high-performing teams, build resilience, collaborate cross-functionally and cross-culturally, and effectively drive execution to achieve targeted, measurable business results.
